Hey guys. I just bought Medal of Honor Allied Assault yesterday.
I have a couple questions if anyone can help?
1. What do you have to do to play multiplayer? Either i try and join and it times out...or a play a and nobody else is in the board? I don't have the server you pay for to play? Can anyone clear up multiplayer?
2. Also i am interested in free downloads for the game. Can anyone give me a link to a site that has downloads that work?
I am especially looking for a good blood download.
any help? THANKS!

I have tried downloading from both sites and i get to this screen:
http://www4.filefront.com/iron-bin/f...path;cache__1F
I don't know if you can open it but it gives you 3 options...buy it on CD, download through peer-peer network, and downloading directly from the server.
i tried both peer-peer and direct from server...when you click to download it goes through the process...you know how you see those papers going into the folder...but there is no status bar...or bar that says what has been downloaded...it just sits there as long as you don't cancel putting those papers into the folder...in fact i had it open for hours!
That's what i meant by no problems...did you get stuff from these sites?...if so how did you do it!

try the direct download one, it is the best. After the pop up d/l box appears, click save. Then in Xmin and XXseconds youll have it

i tried direct and still had a problem...but i'll try again.
However i think in both options i tried saving and they just sat there looking like they were downloading bhut really i guess were not because i let them sit there for hours and nothing downloaded.
I don't have a weak computer...in fact it's a brand new Dell we got a month ago so it isn't my comp.
I'll try again but this is annoying

OK...now i figured out the problem was not me or my comp...they were bad downloads.
I found a few and was able to download them.
The read-me's of the downloads said to save them to the "main" folder...which is what i did.
Now the next step i'm confused with...what is the next step.
I unzipped it...if that was necessary...plus i double clicked on something that brought up the MOH console...which gave me the following quote:
Quote:
--- Common Initialization ---
Medal of Honor Allied Assault 1.00 win-x86 Dec 6 2001
----- FS_Startup -----
Current search path:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\main\Bills_RealBlood/main
----------------------
0 files in pk3 files
Couldn't load default.cfg
|
So basically what i need help with now is what EXACTLY you do after you save a download to the "main" folder.
thanks!

u dont need to save the zip file to the main folder, in fact imho its better to save them to a seperate file. Anyway, you then extract the files to the main folder. Then they are part of your game.

No problem, and if you are ever in need of a clan look no further than the 100th Jaeger Division.

I think it would be really fun to play the multiplayer...but you need to pay for that don't you?
If not i may be asking some questions about the workings of that too heh

nope you dont need to pay for it, there is a trial version. But for now, go to your multi player options screen, and change your connection type to cable. And select browse internet servers, and see if that works.

Hey maybe you could now help me with this?
I bought a controler/game pad. I loaded it correctly because you can test it in the control panel and it works perfectly.
The problem starts in the game. When you play the game it is still set to be played by the mouse and keyboard. However there is no way to select the joystick that i can see in options? Although the instruction manual does say you can use joysticks and that options is the place to get them set up.
Any help!!

Sigh nevermind...i found this...
Quote:
Question
Why does my Controller or gamepad does not work?
Answer
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault does not support gamepads or controllers and will be unable to detect and configure them properly. The game uses the standard First Person Shooter keyboard layout (W.A.S.D. movement).
We are aware of the misprint on page 5 of the game guide regarding joysticks and we regret any misunderstandings.

Does anybody know how to initiate cheats in allied assault...and allied assault spearhead?
From what i read it's something like...you look at the properties of the shortcut for the game...then type some code in "target" field. then after you do that your able to type in certain commands into the console and get the cheats. Does anyone know how to do this right...and spell it out to me lol??
OH
and maybe if you can't help me there...maybe you can help me find the basooka in Spearhead. The board for Bastogne. Where there is a trench line and there are all these germans attacking..then you need to find the basooka to kill a tank...and i have no idea where it is...i easily found the rounds for it...but where in the world is the basooka!!
THANKS!
