Cool

Anyone have any first hand experience with a boardgame called Memoir ‘44? I took a look at the Memoir ‘44 homepage, and it looks good, but I don't expect they are going to be objective about their own game. I hear it takes about an hour to play which is great, especially compared to the obscenely long games of Axis & Allies I am accustomed to playing.

I've not played it, but a friend of mine just got the game. I'm looking forward to his thoughts.

I haven't had time to join in the fun with this game yet, but a couple of my friends wax lyrically about it. Quite quick and simple, with a remarkable amount of tactics still involved according to them. I first noticed it when it received a very favourable review at www.wargamer.com.

On a completely different note...the publishers Days of Wonder have made another great game (more like 50% Risk and 50% Monopoly somehow) called "Ticket to Ride" which is simply grrreat entertainment.
