Some time back The Red Baron tried to run a WW 2 PBM game where each player wrote out a set of orders etc and then these were adjudged by the referee and results given. I am considering possibly (note the possibly) resurrecting a version of this game.
My version would have each player run a major power from WW 2. Starting in about 1936 each player would attempt to use diplomacy, guile and, their economic prowess to guide their country towards international dominance using a historical basis. The game would end when a major conflict erupts between several of the players. That is, the game would be about preparing for war and trying to grab as much power and land diplomatically as possible without causing a war.
This would give each player a chance to reshape their nation into the lean mean fighting machine they surely know it should be. Would France be prepared for a German onslaught? Could the French player maniuplate history sufficently without resorting to fantasy to make this happen?
Is there interest? No guarrentee it will actually happen but, let's start with potential interest and players / nations. Note: no one need play the little guys unless a single player wants to take a bunch of them as needed. Stick to the major powers if interested.

I would love to see this again.

Perhaps 1938 though instead?

Great Idea

World in Flames !!!

TA,

May I suggest that you create a list of Countries and rate their importance, each has a VP penalty depending on their options.

As players join they only have a limited abilty to choose from the list. Or something to ensure all of the major players of the era are taken up before the esoteric choices come in.
