PBEM - Play By EMail, MP - Multiplayer. In PBEM you record your move and email it to your human opponent. In MP you have more than one player connected in a network.

My favourites are the old (W98 era) Talonsoft's Campaign Series (East Front, West Front, Rising Sum), but I also play the Combat Mission series at times.

Mainly Silent Hunter 3 and by email Panzer General 2 both PC games. Not many games catch my eye due to the cost of them.

If you go to ebay and look for games one year old or more you may get lucky and save a bob or two, that's what I do.

I'm also getting back into NWN and obiously NWN 2. Both games can be played on MultiPlayer.

Medieval 2 is a pretty amazing game right now too. I highly recommend it if you like grand-strategy and combat involving 1000+ troops.

I play Rise of Nations recently, and I am looking for a game that gives the taste of Close Combat.

Yep. They actually have a Medieval Total War Game that came out a few years ago that followed Shogun Total War. Both of those games i believe were like a Risk board - aka you can move into one new territory a turn, and the battle map for that territory is always the same. Rome Total War, its Barbarian Invasion Expansion, and now Medieval 2 Total War are not that way. Each city controls a 'zone' that has various types of terrain on it, resources, varying levels of roads, etc. You can move your armies anywhere in these zones, but only control them when you take the city. And depending where you enter combat, the map will be different. For instance, if an invading army is near the ocean and just disembarked from ships, you'll be able to see the ships in the distance. Or if you are close to a city, the same thing goes. Territory is an important factor. If you dominate open fields, fighting in a densely wooded, hilly terrain might see you lose.

Highely recomment RO and MTW 2, the former is probably the best WW2 FPS in terms of realism and if you like ost front games you're in luck. The latter is one of the best games I have ever played though I am rapidly developing a hatred for the pope and for mongols

Games I play often:
PC=warcraft III, COH, call of duty 2, blitzkrieg, age of empires 2.
Console=Resident evil 4, Gran Turismo 3, all of Splinter cells, Ninja Gaiden, GTA Vice City.

My favorite: Rome Total War: Barbarian Invasion. With one army of Hunic archers, i can slay at LEAST ten Roman armies (on hard mode). My casualty was usually 2% and my enemy's 97 %( even when I was out-numbered badly).

As for MTW2, i have solutions to the two most common problems.
Pope: kill the pope.
Squaloring: Abandon the city, let rebels take it, retake it and then exterminate the city.

Panzer elite action for PS2 for WW2 at the moment.

The non-military game I play is Football manager 2007, previously known also as Championship manager.

Well my XBOX 360 stopped working. I think something is wrong with the disc-drive. Its not reading any of the disks i put into it. So thats a bummer. Been like that for over a week so i will need to call tech-support. Wish i had held onto the receipt, though i hope UPC Code is enough for Proof of Purchase.

For PC, i've been playing LOTR II Battle for Middle Earth and CoD MP like always.

CONSOLE/PC: PC
Games Currently Playing: World War II Online Battleground Europe

The game is slowly consuming me. Trying to level up so i can be a sapper. Just might have to play as the Allies for a little bit (they're always outnumbered) and camp out in a spot to get kills. Lots of fun playing as the Germans right now though - joined a great squad! KVD!

hey thats great to hear - whats your ingame name?

mines the same - TBoMBeR - also, if you havent discovered this yet, BE has a stat page so you can check all sorts of things about yourself and other players (who you've killed, how many caps you have, kills, top 100 rankings, etc.)
