Hi all I have been looking for a few weeks for a good quality FREE online WW2 Multi Player RTS Game with little luck.
Im not interested in e-mail based or text based games, or FPS types either.
Something along the lines of Age of Empires, C&C etc or similar.
So if anyone knows of any good one can you please shove the links up!
P.S I'm not interested in any games that take months to play either, or months to wait for the next 'game', e.g 'Kingdoms of War'
Many thanks

I'd be interested to see something like this too. Actually for my tastes, a turn based online game would be better. Either one would be great though.

Well, i dont know of any FREE online RTS games. I do know a few that you can prob get for $20 or less by now.
Sudden Strike (Sudden Strike Forever Addon)
Sudden Strike 2
Both a RTS...each unit is represented. MP, capturing balloons is only way to get reinforcemnts. IE, they are objectives on maps. Capturing all 2 (or 3) of the same color balloon gives you specific reinforcemnts (Artillery, Tank, Infantry, Katuysha, etc) that can turn the tide of the war. Its a matter of defending the balloons and capturing them. No base building, all unit base. You only have what you start with until you capture balloons for reinforcements.
Company of Heroes is another one, though you have to build buildings on the map (though you can convert a town building into a forwards-barracks). Pretty good game too.

That would be my 1st pick by far.
Hearts of Iron 2 (Doomsday) is also a goody!!!

I think the key word is "free" is there anything open source, or very old that multpiple users can play? I'd love to play an online game against some of the other WWII Forum victims, err I mean members.

Not that i am aware of at any rate. And it would only be a 1-v-1 at any rate.
Those previously mentioned games can be played online (for free - aka dont have to pay to play online). Hearts of Iron can have up to 6 players i think (would be very interesting to get a game like that going)..

haha...the PC Version? Wait for Otto and I's reviews on that one first. If you loved the board-game you will be greatly dissapointed!
