Re: Screenshots!
Company Of Heroes has a vast map making community with many awesome custom maps you can play alone against the AI. If you need help locating them, just ask.
Joe - we should hook up sometime and play a round or two of COH online against each other. I don't play that online often because I often have my rear end handed to me.

Re: Screenshots!
Hahah, I know how you feel! Although the main reason about me stopping playing on multiplayer is the fact that I had a massive winning streak just as the server had a problem witch meant MY STATS DIDN'T SAVE! I was so pissed off after that I just decided to play single player.
And I downloaded a few custom maps but i dont know how to open them.
And I would like to play against/with you. Good Idea. At what time?

Re: Screenshots!
To use custom maps, the ones that end with .sga are placed in c:/Documents & Settings/(yourname)/My Games/Company Of Heroes/WW2/Scenarios - note, you might have to create those last two folders. Simply place those files in the Scenario folder and they should appear at the end of the map list when you choose your skirmish map.
If you come across several files when you unzip a custom map you've downloaded, then most likely it has to go in c:/Program Files/THQ/Company Of Heroes/WW2/Data/Scenarios/MP - note, you might have to create the Data/Scenario/MP folders.
After that, right clik the icon on your desktop for the game and change it's start location. Add -dev (hit space after the last quotation mark) at the end of the command line. Apply and run the game from the icon. Your custom maps should appear and be ready to play.

Re: Screenshots!
Thanks, I'll go and download some perhaps tomorrow, after my detention at school for creating beautiful artwork in a science textbook. Well, apparently I was the only one who found it beautiful. Bah.
Anyway, when are we going to play a MP game?

Re: Screenshots!
I'll have to figure that out - especially with our time difference and all.

Re: Screenshots!
What can you expect of the computer eh? Spamming, defeating the enemy when you've just built an unstoppable defensive line, artying your own units, ect ect.
That remindes me, I hope the next patch is out soon, the last one no longer allows custom maps to be played!

Re: Screenshots!
Yeah shore!
It's called "Spring: 1944", and as I said, it's a gaming project I'm working on with a few others, based on the Spring open-source RTS engine.
If you've ever played "Total Annihilation" (a sci-fi RTS from 1997 or so), the Spring engine is very similar, except in full 3D and made for modability. So about a year ago some pals and I decided to make a WW2 RTS on it, and there you have it.
Gameplay wise, it's limited in some ways, but pretty cool in others. You won't see any really detailed unit behaviour -- no CoH or CC troops hiding in cover and that sort of thing, but that's made up for (hopefully) by Supcom-esque massiveness, with dozens of tanks and support vehicles, hundreds of infantry, fighter squadrons dogfighting overhead, artillery thundering halfway across the map, and other cool tidbits, like dynamic penetration (depending on range), front and rear armour differences, etc.
Here's some youtube "trailer" vids I and some others made:
YouTube - Spring: 1944 Katyusha Test Firing
YouTube - Spring: 1944 East Front gameplay video
YouTube - Spring: 1944 Aircraft diagonal takeoff and landing
And our website is: Spring:1944 - Home
It's still in development, and we're always looking for beta testers, especially those with WW2 wargame experience.

Re: Screenshots!
Wow, that katyusha barrage was really nice! The game looks great!
I noticed in the video that FLOZi did some work on the project. If it's the same person, he's been a member of this website since 2004!

Please, keep us updated SpikedHelmet.

Re: Screenshots!
My join date: March 2003 :P
Yes, he's one and the same, he's our primary UV mapper, and does engine development, scripting, and 3d modelling as well.
I primarily do modelling, uv mapping and texturing (infact, pretty much all of the textures in the game, of all 200 models, were done by me, except for two iirc).
I'll definately throw out updates, and I'll try to make a big clamour when we get ready for a public release (until then, if you'd like to help beta test...! )

Hey Spiked. I just tried to download the game, but the DL links don't want to co-operate. I'd really like to play, so tell me where to get it!
