Re: My COH war story.
I find that the AI kicks my ass in the beginning of a Skirmish. By time i have two infantry squads, they seem to have a handful of tanks...not sure how this happens since they go for the three 'Flags' while i go for the nearby resources. Even my ally AI seems years ahead. My MP always seems to be lacking.
Also picked up Opposing Forces today - suprisingly doesnt need original COH?

Re: My COH war story.
I remember when I first got it, I found it difficult to beat an easy computer opponent. Now I find playing against expert computers too easy.
After you play it for a few years (like me), you get to know the strengths and weaknesses of each unit, and how to combat any enemy you meet.
E.G-Beating a Tiger with nothing more than an Infantry company commander tree and a few Rifle Squads, Sticky bomb the Tiger to take out it's engine so you can call in the arty.
Simple.
Though this is getting more as an advertisement for the game so I'll get to the answer.
I played AoEII and III, some of the Blitzkrieg series, ad others that I can't put me finger on.

Re: My COH war story.
Musso, great news you got OF, yes it dosent need the origonal to play, it's a stand alone title.
Though I must admit you got it at a rather bad time-the next patch comes out tommorrow and OF has this little thing where you have to download it wether you like it or not.

Re: My COH war story.
My COH isn't patched either, perhaps that'll be what i have to do. Either way, i'd be patching it this week so i can play online.
Whenever my sticky bombs knock out an engine, the tank still manages to drive around. The best was when i made one go Out of Control and it crashed into an Observation Post, destroying both!
BTW, is the German Engineers trait where they can 'harvest' metal from destroyed vehicles worth it at all?

Re: My COH war story.
It depends on you point of view. I've read somwhere on PCoH by one of there CoH Boffins that it is invaluable. But I am nowhere near their standards, if you watch some of their replays they are incredable!

Re: My COH war story.
Bloody hell! Bought Opposing Fronts today, and it uninstalls COG? WTF...not to mention it just downloaded a 136MB Patch and is now doing an 114MB patch. WTF - thats pretty massive patching! Especially with my wireless connection. I'd be done in under 5 mins if i was at home. This game better be worth it...

I just got the game a few weeks ago mate, and I felt exactly the same, but seriously wait and do it all, and then play it, it is worth it mate.
