Re: CoD: World At War
Sorry Duce, but I got it on the 360. You are right about the Flame thrower. Wow, What a weapon. I was particularly surprised at the range of it as well. A well done game IMO. When you fire at nothing, the ground burns for a while as the fluid(?) sticks for a while. When they said based on COD 4 engine, they meant it, It's almost exactly as COD4 in feel only it's WW2. On-line play for me was fun, as the maps are much bigger for the most part, with MANY more hiding places. Haven't finished the Campaign yet so I won't comment on that, but in the Pacific Maps I was glad to see them go to places not covered in other FPS's. Makin Atoll and Peleliu.

Re: CoD: World At War
You guys are killing me!
If your PC can run the game, you should always get the PC Version of it, especially if its a FPS. Mouse + Keyboard is far superior to a console controller when it comes to FPS game. Not to mention the mod and map making community is always for the PC version. (not to mention free online pay, stupid Microsoft charges you on the 360).
At any rate, I played the ZOMBIES last night! With just me and my friend, we made it to the 9th level. With 4 people, we made it to the 13th level. The zombies get quicker and harder to kill the more rounds you survive.
You get points for killing Zombies, which you spend on weapons. White Chalk on wall depicts what weapon is for 'sale' at that spot, so sometime you have to run through zombie infested areas to get to the good guns. From the starting room, there is a staircase you can unlock. Gives you access to the shotguns, grenades, BAR, and thats all I think. Theres also a room on the bottom floor (with another staircase going to same upper level) that has a few other weapons (like the Sniper Rifle) and the Random Box. You have to have some one cover you when you use it, since you can't do anything for a few seconds, but the Random Box gives you a random weapon. Some suck, some don't. You can get a Lazer Gun from the random box, a flamethrower, bazooka, LMG, etc.
During the 4-person game, i had 160 kills, another player had 120, and the two others had around 100 each. So thats close to 500 Zombies in 13 rounds!

I perfer PC gamers all the way, but the only thing is that my computer is although good enough to play COH on alright settings, when it comes to the brand new games that need the latest of everything, I tend to lean towards the console games, mainly due to the fact that the console can play it to its max settings because it was designed to.
I do however find the computer better and easier to use for FPS games, especially when it comes to aiming (scoping in particular) and general moving. But I remember seeing an article about which was better ' the Console or the PC(mouse and keyboard)'. The article when on about the pros and cons of both and the conclusion was that both were the same, it just depended on your own experiences and skill with that particular control. It is like saying which is the best martial arts? The answer is, there is no superior one, it all depends on ones skill and mastery of the art of there chosing whether it be Karate or Judo for some examples.
Now I personnally believe that I am better when it comes to PC's but like I explained the XBox is more effiecent for me and I enjoy it just as much.

Re: CoD: World At War
COD is notorious for working well on high settings on all computers. The performance doesn't take a hit. One review I read, the reviewers were playing on a 2-year old computer and said it runs just fine. Let me ask you this, what video card do you have? Thats really all that matters in this case. If you have COD 4 for the PC, then this new one will work just as fine.

Ummm.......Ummmm.........One that doesn't play the graphics on Civ4, and turns the ocean white on SH3, if that helps. Oh yeah SH3 skips badly for me, and wont even try to display a convoy. Too many ships, whole screen turns white.

Re: CoD: World At War
I had to go with the Xbox 360, too. I was a PC gamer until most of my friends switched to the console.
I really do like the game, I just don't get to play enough, lol.

Re: CoD: World At War
Not got it yet.
Well I sent my mother out to get it for me.
Apparently we managed to get it for £15, traded in £15 worth of games so not a bad deal!

Nope, as stated NUMEROUS times already, FPS suck on Consoles. FPS are designed for PCs. Thus, I have it on the PC.
