Hang on I shall put on my upper class accent.
"I'm talking about cricket old boy, fancy a cucumber sandwich?"
“It’s the age old battle with are arch nemeses the Australians.”
“Spot of tea any one?”

I will have to pass on the cucumber sandwich, thank you. How about a fried pickle and some onion rings with a Dr Pepper.
That will put some lead in your pencil !

Dark days for English cricket as we loose the Ashes, let’s hope it will not end in a white wash.

My Solution to the woefull Pommy Cricket Team.
Treat this defeat as being the end of the world, not sit back and say we are still second, we had some injuries (and a breakdown) etc etc. Do you think Ponting came home from England saying "It was only 2-1"
Play 4 day County games, 3 days is crap, the players have to be hardened.
Pre-Tour, They must have 3 or 4 serious 1st Class Games, the lead up to this tour was amatuerish.
How many Pommy Cricketers would get a game in Shield Cricket here?? Flintoff, Pietersen, maybe Strass & Cook. How many Australians play County Cricket and aren't good enough to play for Australia, probably 10-15.
Get rid of the Barmy Army, it seems to be more important than the Test Team. When I go to Test cricket I dont want to hear that crap all day.
Take away the baubles handed out in 2005, IT IS A JOKE that players got the MBE for winning 1 series 2-1, isnt England so sad a Nation that such results a worth a gong??

I'd agree, and also suggest to the country as whole to stop over-rating stick-and-ball games and ... get a life !

We are still No.2 in the world and that means ahead of South Africa and the West Indies, Australia are in a league of there own as they really work hard at there game. One thing we should learn from them when Australia falls behind what do they do?
They go out attacking and fighting back unlike us who seem to take a, well you know. Well that's it still 2009 when the great Ashes battle with Australia starts all over again.

Truer words have never been spoken!!!!!!!
Everything that could go wrong went wrong for England, from players heading back home, to injuries and poor selections and an unfit captain, hardly the way to take on the world champs bent on revenge for '05.
Be interesting to see how the Aussies perform in the near future.
Just lost Warne and McGrath, the greatest bowling duo in Test history, as well as Langer, Martyn, and soon to loose Hayden, Gilchrist, it'll soon be a very different line up.
Got good players in the wings, but you don't replace champions like that lot to easily.
Just heard that Trescothick and Gough have been left out of England's World Cup squad.
