Hey guys anyone play Airsoft? If you do post pictures of your guns or equipment or just talk about it.

I do. We have a platoon-sized team that plays every weekend at an urban/CQB/jungle game site, at least 12 hectares in size.
I don't have any handy pics to post in airsoft because somebody else in the team is our unofficial photographer. Now that you've asked, I think it's about time for me to get a few copies from him.

What do you use?
I have three MP-5's, a Classic Army (500 fps) for field games, a Cyma at 400 fps for urban, and another at 280 fps for CQB. It's easier to have one type of AEG. One set of magazines for all three. I use two pistols, one is a springer at 180 fps for really close in encounters and a gas pistol at 220 fps for slightly longer range.

My team includes active, reserve and retired military and police personnel, plus a few businessmen, managers, students, nurses, lawyers and brods from college ROTC. Our team specializes in CQB. I usually act as point man and scout for the team in jungle terrain.

It's a fun way to spend a weekend. But I do have to admit that it comes with a price.

hey falcon thanks for posting, I currently have no weapons . Soon i am getting an ECHO 1 ak-47 folding stock at 340 fps or a ECHO 1 ak-47 vector arms at 400 fps full metal, either way i will upgrade to 600+. I have plenty of equipment but im not on any team at the moment. I play with my friends behind my house we have a forest. I live in Pennsylvania. There is a lot of great cover and places to hide. Where do you play at?

The game site is called "Baghdad Libis". It's located a few kilometers north of Manila in Quezon City, near the boundary between Marikina and Quezon cities.

The site is an abandoned cement manufacturing complex. We have a two office buildings to indulge in CQB while the old road system and parking lot serves as the urban area. The open areas has trees, reeds, a small river, a hill. It's largely an overgrown area where the factory buildings used to stand.

The site also offers night games on Wednesdays. Game fee is roughly $2 or a hundred pesos. The site is large enough to accomodate at least 150 players on a weekend.

I just ordered my new gun. ECHO 1 AK-47 folding stock. 400 fps, mostly metal, accurate up to 150 feet, takes a 8.4v stick battery with 2 hi cap 600 rd magazines.

Nice pics. You should try getting low cap mags, too. I have ten low cap mags (30 bb capacity each). Using such low cap mags makes the game a lot more interesting. Unfortunately, not everybody likes to use them. It's a good thing that my airsoft buddies share the same mindset of making the game as realistic as possible.

The team also had new uniforms issued. We're now adopting marpat, US woodland pattern is just so common that it's hard to tell friend from foe at site.

How are your games lately with your new AEG?

The games are going well. The gun is so accurate and fast i cant miss! Im going to get a laser sight for it soon.

Nice! A laser sight is good. But from my own experience, it's not good to rely on it too much, especially at night. Those who use it too much tend to betray their position when they use it carelessly at night. Those guys are easy targets. Have fun!

Sorry, i guess i didn't make myself clear, its like a scope but there is a red/green dot in the middle, it doesn't show up on the target you are aiming at.

Oh. I stand corrected. You've got yourself a very useful tool then.

As for news, a couple of my friends have found an abandoned warehouse complex and we're currently negotiating with the owners to turn it into an airsoft game site. We do hope it pushes through. If it does, it will be open by early February next year.

Haven't been around the Forum for a while because I was in Cebu island for a week helping train the security people of a local shipping firm. We (which includes an ex-US contractor in Afghanistan, ex-cops and soldiers) did simulations on board three ferry ships there. We didn't use AEG's though. We used RAM Mark 4's. They're almost identical to the real M4's and instead of 6mm bb's, we used paintball rounds, which wouldn't damage anything on the ships. I was part of the OPFOR posing as pirates and terrorists against the security people. We've done a total of twelve ships, including the three in Cebu, so far. And another local shipping firm is interested in hiring us.

Doing this is a great way of merging my interest in milsims and doing something concrete against terrorism. I'm glad to say that one of the security teams that went through our course was able to arrest a suspect for allegedly trying to bring explosives on board a ship a couple of months ago.

Bumping up this old thread. Just found out that Miguel B. is also an avid airsofter and we agreed that there should be a thread for this. So with the moderators' permission, here goes.

I've often said here that I learn new things from the different people here. And Miguel B. is no exception. In a pm to me, he described how one can attach paper targets with strings on a door so that when the door is opened, the target also moves. I hadn't thought of that. It certainly is one practical way to practice a CQB skill.

does anyone have any info on whether or not Jing Gongs guns are durable? i wan t to know if theyll survive my clusmyness as i drop them, or ill have wasted a lot of money for nothing.

You should practice better gun handling. AEG's from China are, from what I've seen, is sometimes a hit or miss affair. Even branded AEG's have lemons. Jing Gong, though, have a reputation of being one of the good buys, along with Galaxy.
The reliable branded ones, which are really expensive and high-end are Classic Army and Tokyo Marui. They're the popular buys in my place.

If you really want to spend your money on airsoft, such as upgrading gears, changing barrels, etc. I suggest that you first find a reputable guy who knows how to do this. Many people claim to know how and charge a fee to do this but sometimes there workmanship is shoddy and what happens is you end up paying more to fix the mistakes.
If you can afford it, better to have three AEG's on hand. Two low-end and preferably souped up high-end AEG.
The two low-end would be around 300 and 350 FPS for the CQB scenarios.
The high-end one would be for open-FPS sites.
I prefer to use one type (MP5) for all three so that there's no real difference in handling and I can use the same set of magazines for all three. Besides, I can also interchange parts and accessories between the three, thus saving on money.

And finally, going back to your dropping your AEG, better improve your handling. Remember to use silicon oil to clean your barrel and watch out for the hop up rubber when you insert the rod. Your air electronic gun (AEG) would last longer if handle them with tender care.

Miguel, here's a true story of how effective is the use of passwords and situational awareness during CQB.

There were 36 guys divided into banded and unbanded teams. My regular team, six guys, were in the banded group.
Okay, off we go into the dark corridors of an abandoned refrigerated warehouse. There are plenty of obscure places where one can lurk and ambush. Personally, since we know the layout of the place quite well, we prefer to rush and take control of strategic corners and corridors, thus limiting the opposing team's access to other areas of the warehouse. Usually, the opposing team is quite surprised that we six guys are already so near their starting point and that they were engaged so early.
Anyway, in one game, we beat part of the opposing team to a dark room and we were preparing an ambush when they walked in on us. Instead of shooting, they asked "banded or banded?" Our only reply was a steady stream of BB's. Their question gave them away immediately as enemy. Also, they weren't exactly sure where there other team mates are.
For us, the other guys of our group know that my team likes to operate ahead and they usually give us a clear sector to operate in while they take another sector. We retain a few guys who can reinforce which sector that needs a little help.
And they're very careful when they have to approach our sector. We use simple hand signals and passwords when we need to cross into an allied sector.

In airsoft games or other similar activities, there will always be people who no matter if they're hit, they pretend not to be hit. We call these guys "zombies." Fortunately for our group which my team belongs, such guys are always found out. Many of those caught are given a very gentle reminder that if they persist in doing so, nobody will play against them anymore. That reminder usually works wonders.
However, if that doesn't work and he persists in being a "zombie" the game marshal will pull him out. And before the marshal gets there, some guys (including some from his own side) would've taken a lot of potshots at him.
Me, I'd just let the other guys do that to that "zombie" because I would rather use my pellet load on more worthwhile targets.
A kilo of plastic pellets for airsoft guns range from five to seven US dollars, depending on the pellet's weight. I wouldn't waste money on a "zombie" which is just a polite term for cheater.
Personally, I don't mind losing if we were outflanked or outwitted by a crafty opponent because we learn to improve because of them.
Miguel (and other airsoft players out there) how about you? How do guys in your country deal with such people?

I play airsoft aswell.My gun is a stock Kart made M14-socom and usually I play the role of the sniper's spotter (when outdoors).If we play indoors, my role is that of covering fire.
Luckily, this is a very spread game in Romania, and so at a game we are usually around 60-70 players.The games usually take place either in a forest, either in an abandoned farm (there are allot of abandoned farms around here).
About "zombies", or those who, once dead give information to their friends about the number, and exact position of the enemies, we usually give them a warning first and than bann them from playing if the incident repeats itself.
What is your favourite game type (deathmatch, capture the flag, protect the vip, etc)?Mine is the one that includes vip's.Beeing around the sniper all the time, it's more fun.
