Portugal plays like i know they can play, and Ronaldo doesn't dive with every step, I think this will be a good game but favor Portugal.

I think I only agree with Turkey beating Croatia - especially if they play the way they did against the Czechs. Turkey are with out their starting goal keeper (red card= misses next two games) so that could be a factor.

Russia isn't great - a bit lucky with their draw - and maybe one or two star names on the team. Holland is pretty good, with a lot of depth, so i think this could turn into a drubbing.

Spain has been playing well, also with a lot of depth on their side. No one missing as far as i can recall, while Italy will be suffering. Another good game, but leaning towards spain here.

Portugal put up a valiant effort a nice header in for their final score just minutes before games end but they could not shake Deutschlands might even though Germany was the underdog..............score, boyz in white: 3 to boyz in Red: 2

great game !

great match! I have to say tough that the Portuguese players were probably the players with more stamina in the EC... I mean the germans couldn't put up a decent run and nthey were still going...

Cheers...

One down three to go. A classic display of German tournament mentality, concerving energy for the latter stages. Bastian Schweinsteiger kept up the good work.

The way I see it both Holland and Spain have a mental handicap. Turkey and Russia are just mad enough to win the games, and Italy like Germany will do enough to go through.

I thought Portugal played pretty poorly. Germans dominated right from the start, pretty quick 2 - 0 lead. Ronald-who? I don't think i noticed him at all. Tomorrows game, Turkey vs Croatia, should be another fun one!

The first two goals clear mistakes by the Portuguese defence, the third, BallackŽs header, where was the goalie??? Nice comeback effort from portugal but no magic from Ronaldo this time. Germany deserved to win although I had my money on Portugal. Abysmal effort by Portugal defence really.

MY friend told me yesterday that he would not be surprised if the final was played between Italy and Germany. Now I understand what he meant....

Yes for the majority of the game Germany had their heels on us. Our defense sucks and we really need a guy who scores! Great match for Deco tough.

I still don't think the Italians are any good. Portugals defense was horrendous...on the 2nd goal, off the free kick, the defenders just stood still and left open 3 german players, giving the one who scored a wide open header. WTF? Even i play better defense then that! Germans also all seemed a lot bigger/stronger then the Port's...and Ronaldo, wow, talk about a no-show.

We are not a country of tall people. Still, Deco managed to throw Schweinstiger to the ground after an impressive tackle
Yes our defense is horrendous that's why when we play against a good team we always seem to get pummeled.

Cheers...

Which is why I don't think Italy will do good. They got pummeled by the Netherlands. France scored, what, 2 goals in 3 games and gave up 6 or so? Romania should have beaten Italy 2 - badly taken PK. Italy vs. Netherlands...well, that was a blow out. So yeah, Italy vs Spain will be same story.

I am excited for the game today, Turkey vs Croatia. Too not-very-special-teams in a fight to the death! Hopefully its as exciting as Turkey vs. Czech!

Yes, Turkey showed what a determined team can do in the end. Nihat was already a huge player with Rossi in Villareal, now he can become a "legend" ( at least in Turkey ) by performing well tonight. WeŽll see. So many times teams from the Balkans have lost their nerve and lost the game because of that. Well, weŽll see soon what will happen...

Last second effort saved Turkey and Croatia lost its nerves in the penalties...Great game actually! Except for those who support Croatia, I guess....

My money was on croatia, but turkeys extra time winner knocked the stuffing out of them you could see it as each player walked up to take his penalty.

That would be "interesting" if Turkey knocked The Mighty Germany out of competition next....
