Its gonna be Germany vs. Russia/Spain for the final. I predict Germans to beat Turks 3 - 0 (due to injuries etc). Spain vs Russia is going to be 3 - 2, final score, Spain.

My last post was based on Kevin Keegans famous rant, but I would really love it if they did win it.

Members of the Russian team each got 200,000 Euros for beating Netherlands, the coach got 300,000!

I cant wait for the Russia and Spain rematch.

Go Russia!!!

So Germany fired the Turks 3-2 , but only at the lat minute. And the Turks resisted quite a while. I am going to win my bet!

Smile Re: EC soccer 2008

I thought Turkey did enough to win the game but also Germans have the astonishing capability to produce goals out-of-nowhere. Just as you though it was extra time coming up, the Germans scored and won.

I recall from the match from the first half they said something like Turkey won shots towards goal 15-3 or something like that....

Great match tonight. We´ll see if Guus can produce the winning tactics...

I saw last night on tv news that some mother in Russia gave his baby boy name "Guus". Will there be loads of Guus´named kids in Russia this year??

I would find it a little Ironic for Russia and Germany to face each other in the final...I mean, I can't help but chuckle when I see match ups like that. 60 odd years ago these two countries were killing each other by the Millions and now they (possibly) do battle on the soccer pitch!

Would the veterans have believed that their grandchildren would one day play football together? It shows about the absurdity of war.

From what I heard on the radio, the Russians have little to complain about. No signs of the turbo football that they had against Holland.

This leave a final against a rather unconvincing Germany.

So..... Are they going to prove Gary Lineker right?

excellent game by Spain especially after Fabgregas got to the pitch to replace Villa. I recall Russia had a "wonderkid". Last night he was not playing....

Spain if they play like this has a very good chance of winning the title.

Well, analysing the games from germany, they only need to shooton goal 3 times and the games gets three nil
And why do you think Germany is unconvincing? I rather enjoyed the game against Turkey. They allowed the Turks to bust themselves on the first half and then dominated trough the second

Cheers...

Germany didn't play well at all. Got a bit lucky with poor Turkish defending. They play like that against Spain, they're finished.

I disagree. I think they played what they had to. Turkey entered 200% on the field the Germans merely allowed them to bust themselves. On the second half Turkey only appeared in the second Goal wich was luckier than any of the German Goals. And Germany scored right afterwards in a brilliant move. Germany was superior tactically and has the players to do the diference.

Cheers...

I almost cried when the Russians lost.

And Andrei Arshavin ( wonder kid which I believe Kai was referring to ) simply did not come prepared to play.
