Re: College Football 2008
If the Cow College doesn't find some kind of consistent offense, they are going to be suffering now that they are hitting the meat of the schedule.

Re: College Football 2008
Once again the nations third highest scoring offense kicked the snot out of another opponent. Penn State spanked Temple 45-3 today, putting up 31 of their points in the second quarter alone. East Carolina will probably drop out of the rankings now as they where upset by NC state. Alabama also put a large score as they stayed udefeated as well. Tonight's match up I'm looking forward to watching will be LSU and Auburn. Next week Penn State will begin their Big Ten schedual against Illinios finally knocking them out of the Top 25 if they dont drop out after this week. Is it just me or does Ohio State look extremly weak this year dispite all the hype?

Re: College Football 2008
I see Colorado snuffed out W.V. what happened there ? My Orygun looked like they were going to get ripped clean out of the stadium but almost caught up with hefty little Boise St who pulled it out by two points. Orygun will probably be off the charts now

It could have been worse. The Tide got down inside the Hog's 15 and let time run out instead of running another play or two. Two TD runs, one about 65 yards and the other 87.

The Aub's defense looked mighty porous & their offense was hit or miss with emphasis on the "miss."

Re: College Football 2008
Thanks Jeff, actually I know a few Buckeye fans and they all keep telling me I'm crazy. You just can't be that good when you can't beat the snot out of sup par teams. They keep winning, but it just looks ugly

What was ECU's coach thinking by having his team go for the TD on 4th down within the 5 yard line and up by 4 points with less than 9 minutes left to play in the 4th quarter? How could he give up a chance to go up by a TD? That made no sense at all and he really did a disservice to his team, ECU and Conference USA. I know mistakes happen but come on!

Re: College Football 2008
thanks Mike for posting the weeklies. I just don;t get how they come up with listing philosophy...........USC with 2 wins is ranked Numero # 1 ?
I'd ask someone here to explain but with limited knowledge on all of this it would go in one side of the sphere and out the other

Not a problem there Erich. Unfortunatly, I can't help you with the rankings. I said since week one that Illinios doesn't belong in the top 25 but they stayed there all season

Re: College Football 2008
WOW! #1 USC fell last night to the Oregon St Beavers 27-21! USC was held to a total of just 86 rushing yards. They looked horrible in the first half going down by 21. They picked it up in the second half, but it was just too late. The last time Oregon St. beat a number one ranked team was 1967. This marks the second time in three years they have upset a top 3 ranked USC. What a game!

Re: College Football 2008
I didn't watch the game (forgot it was on) as we were at a Black Belt awards ceremony for my daughter then went out to dinner afterward.
It's going to make the UA/UG game this weekend take on even more importance.

It's the biggest game to watch this weekend. I've heard many annalists saying to watch out for the Tide. They are going strong this year, and I think there even better than what people are thinking.

Re: College Football 2008
The USC game was only the beginning!
Bama is going to beat #3 Georgia in about half an hour.
Mississippi State shocked #4 Florida.
Michigan beat #9 Wisconsin.
The Midshipmen beat #16 Wake Forest.
Maryland beat #20 Clemson.
Houston beat #23 East Carolina.
Fresno State and Auburn were very nearly upset as well.
I think the top 3 when we see the next polls will show Oklahoma, LSU and Alabama each getting first place votes. The top 10 should get a really interesting new look!

Re: College Football 2008
Yep, this is the week of upsets. Three out of the top five going down. Did someone do something to the water?
Come on Jeff. Bama's just about got it locked right now. No way UG is gonna win. Make a game of it, maybe, but not win. You sound like me being a typical Philly fan. Up untill a few hours ago I thought for sure the Phillies would blow the division. Anyways, I've been saying all year Alabama is even better than what people think and no one thinks they are a bad team.
Penn States defence is starting to worry me. Got back too good players, who where suppossed to plug some questions but...

Re: College Football 2008
Yep -- Bama handled Georgia. This gets interesting. I could see Bama leapfrogging LSU for 2nd. The Sooners have to be 1 but I am not sure LSU deserves 2. I predict that the AP poll this week will have:
1) Oklahoma (75% of 1st place votes)
2) Alabama (22% of 1st place votes)
3) LSU (3% of 1st place votes)
