TYPE: 75 mm field support howitzer manned by a crew of five

Based on the earlier M 1920 pack howitzer, the MIAI entered service with the American army in 1934 and differed from its predecessor in having changed breech rings and block. When fitted with pneumatic tyres, the weapon became known as the M8. In British airborne service, 18 MIAI’s were allocated to each Airborne Division with the gun breaking into nine loads for para-crate packing.
