Username: A-58 Postmark: 8 December 2021 From: Baton Rouge, capital of the State of Louisiana, USA This is the sixth straight year Bobby (A-58) has sent in a Christmas greeting card, always delivered in an unmistakably festive envelope. Each year's submission provides a Christmas greeting along with a tasty recipe. Bobby's Christmas greeting to the good Rogues of the WW2F. Happily, this is a new card with an unseen recipe. And the all important recipe, this time a Spicy Chicken Soup. For a trip through Christmas past, here are all of Bobby's previous cards. Not this one. I regularly make a bone broth and consume that in a variety of ways. Trouble (Mrs. Otto) often makes red beans and rice with sausage (Christmas 2016) and makes an expert Shrimp Boil (Christmas 2019).
I did. It was a fairly simple recipe and tasted good. I went a little more on the seasoning but then again I usually go the extra shake or two when adding the good stuff.
Me too. I make Blackened Chicken a lot using Zatarain's Blackened Seasoning (superb) and my wife sometimes comments it's too hot, I think it's just right, but I dial it back. I keep a large backstock of Zatarain's, Chachere's and Tabasco Pepper sauce on hand just in case the Sh$$ ever hits the fan. They can make just about anything taste good. Plus, I grow and preserve a lot of peppers, cayenne's, serrano's, jalapenos, bananas, bells, cajin bells, and habaneros.
I used to grow an assortment of peppers at the old house. Plenty of sun there. That’s the only things that the squirrels didn't fool with. They wreaked havoc on my maters though.
I actually have bananas growing on my banana trees this year. My tomatoes did really well this year, as did the peppers. My concord grape vines have been in the ground three years now and it was beautiful, lush green and loads of grapes were coming in, then something got them. The leaves started getting skeletonized and something ate all the grapes. I had Japanese beetle traps out, so I don't think that was the issue. If I can identify the culprits, whatever they are they'll die and die hard.
