Good news. Last time I checked early this year, the group was hoping to have it airborne for Oshkosh 2014. Hopefully they'll be on track for 2015.

I've never been to Oshkosh before, but I might attend to see two B-29s in formation.

It's not in a museum, the plane is being restored in a Boeing hangar in Wichita.

Anyone with an interest in aviation owes themselves a trip to AirVenture at Oshkosh at least once in their lifetime. There is always a large contingent of WWII warbirds in attendance. Two B-29's flying together would be special.

There are numerous B-29s in museums, but the expense of restoring one to flight status is enormous.

ENOLA GAY is in the Dulles annex of the Smithsonian; BOCK'S CAR is in the Air Force Musuem in Dayton. There are roughly 30 B-29s in the US and several in other countries. There is a B-29 gate guardian at an Air Reserve Base near me.

A few of my family members go every year and always ask me to come. I'll get around to it sometime. Its not that long of a drive from where I am in Ontario.

it's a big airplane....these warbirds do not seem so big when you look at pics....you have to see them in person to realize their size...I saw a TBF one time, and was amazed how big it was...

The Tu-4? Very few, you could probably count them on one hand. China also has some.

Just think, there'd be three if they hadn't burned up Kee Bird in that pooch screwed attempt.
