Alternative D-Day+1

    I heard that Rommel propose a plan to defend beaches with panzer divisions, not to retreat and engage them after the landings.
    But Hitler refuse than plan.
    Do you think than plan worked ?

    Assuming for the sake of argument the D-Day invasion failed, the Red Army would have continued rolling westward until it finally linked up with the western armies at Gibraltar. Also, the US would probably have used atomic bombs in Europe in 1945.
