Does American Football have more than one team per city? I know of the NY Giants and the NY Jets, but no more.
They also used to have the "Titans". L.A. Used to have both the Rams & the Raiders, but now it has neither.
They are trying to spread out the teams now. The existing teams can stay where they are but location is considered on the new teams. The two city teams come from when there was an AFL. When the NFL and AFL merged in the '60s, some cities ended up with two teams. Others just go back so far that when there were only a handful of teams, nobody cared how many a city had, the league was just happy to have teams. The Raiders are from Oakland, CA. Oakland is right next to San Francisco, so you can say they have two teams. The Raiders are originally from Oakland but were bought and moved to Los Angeles in the '80s. They were again bought and moved back to Oakland several years later (made a lot of NFL fans happy).
I know the badgers have been done on here but I found this on the same site. http://www.footballbadgers.com/
Have you heard anything about there could possibly be a Canadian team option for the upcoming franchise shifts? Rumor has it somebody in Toronto is wanting a NFL team and is looking at moving an existing team there. I'm a Steelers fan.
I guess they figure NFL games will be a big draw as Toronto already has the NBA Raptors and MLB Blue Jays. If they play it in the Skydome, I can see how it would be fairly big. The dome already has the capacity and support that the NFL requires for franchises. Besides, It will put a team right between Buffalo and Detroit. What I can't figure out is what team could be bought out and moved there.
