Hi, My name's Brett; I'm based out of Minnesota. I'm joining the forum as I've long been interested in it. Part of it stems from my family; my grandfather served in the Army Air Corps at Clark Field, and my father served in the Air Force, so military history, especially aviation, has always been a topic of conversation in our family. I also studied German, and the atrocities they carried out. I'm joining for a couple of reasons. At my day job, I'm currently editing a book about Minnesotans from tiny towns who served (and died) in World War 2. (We're talking places with 100 or so folks or fewer.) So I've been spending quite a bit of time reading about the war years as of late. At home, I'm reading a lot of Primo Levi, too, so the era's on my mind. I've also started a website--Left Hooks--that deals in politics and history and the like, and we have some WW 2-era posts and I'm also interested in finding authors who might be interested in writing about similar interests. I'd love to run pieces about battlefields then vs. now, etc., pieces comparing the '30s vs. now, and anything else anyone can dream up. (Anything about discovery of fallout shelters, etc., too.) I also collect, a bit. Mostly Army Air Corps-type stuff; I have some of the field recognition manuals, but I'm also interested in Civil Defense-type stuff. Anyway, thanks for reading, and for the site, Brett
