Reply here from Tankpark (via e-mail)

It went in for a wash down, as you do,
got used as bathing platform, as you do,
    Slipped a track,as you do,(slack tracks)
Towed out by LAD.(as they do)
More excitement than fighting terrorists.(as you did)
(KDG had artillery Sqd. throughout ww2 until Guns handed over to 13/18Hussars in March 1948.)

Now a Canadian soldier, today, would install a beer cooler in something like that. The americans would attach at least a lance of Abrahms to defend it. They know who's got the beer.

Not quite sure cause the Japs had such strange numbers on their tanks but my guess is a Type 3 amphibian tank. Probably with some more name like Ho-Ha or something. :D

That's the T55-converted-to-Tiger they use for movies these days! You don't mean they put it in a museum as a Tiger, do you? Look at the suspension! :-?

    Certainly not!
    This is Bovvie!

They've put it in a museum as a T-55 (or whatever, Tankpark can confirm detail) converted into a Tiger for the films.

Remember the paint job on the Jagdtiger? Saying this is Bovington isn't really that strong a point... :D

    Bovington Jagdtiger

Not heard about the Bovington Jagdtiger paintjob; care to enlighten me?

Yes, sadly, for a museum packed full of great exhibits,( possibly the biggest collection on public display any where in the world), they are as sloppy with the identification of vehicles pictured as any two bit World war II book captions.

    Look at the tracks - it's a T-34/76, not a T-54/55.
