I can only interpret your continuous refusal to address the arguments I've brought up as you admitting that you have no counter-arguments, and as a result, that you agree with me.

Furthermore, your statement below is a disguised straw man argument, and as a result, it does not exist.

Blaster, sometimes I think you type just to see the words you typed.

Not anti-american per se, but more a hamper on American power. There are some who believe that the USA, with its sound humanitarian record, would be a more suitable "world police force" than the UN will ever be... And all the UN is ever good for is tying down America with bureaucracy before a response can ever be made...

I don't buy into this because because it relies upon the assumption that the jobs that the UN does can be done better, by America... And that America would even be willing to accept such a gross obligation

History has shown that preventing wars is as easy as pie, after all

I am of the opinion that although the UN may be hopeless at times, there is simply no better alternative for serving the role that it does.
Unless theres some suggestion I haven't heard yet

The whole point of the UN is to be a 'world police' - and much much more - that does not have quite the same bias that one nation alone would. However, since it is made up of many nations, most of what happens is bickering.

Hey! - Removed by moderator Furthermore, it would seem like a good hypothesis, because you just say something about an issue, often emotionally, and refuse to go in depth or anything.

To be pragmatic, I think the UN blew it when they began to let everybody in. It should have stayed more like the Leauge of Nations. Not fair to the minor nations perhaps, but probably a lot more effective.

And since Norway wouldn't be a member in this scenario, perhaps our PM would be more concerned with running the country than trying to land himself a nice job in the UN. :-?

Just because a hypothesis is good doesn't mean it's right.

And apparently this latest attempt to criticize me has been deleted by a moderator before I had a chance to read it.

CSP, you once told me to show respect for merlin, and everyone else, but has anyone shown respect for me? Or do I not even deserve respect because I'm so 'obnoxious'? And seeing as how you and merlin are now teaming up at my expense, I'm really starting to think you guys do hate me.

CSP and Merlin, you should attack the issue or ignore the person. Right now your behaviour is reminding me of junior high, to be honest. If Blaster really is 11 years old, he is much more intelligent and is trying much harder than I was at the time...

    Cut him some slack.

    What was the subject?

And I'm definitely in my second childhood, my grandaughter says "about 12"!.
I left school at 14 and was working on munitions for the Air Ministry the week I left.
    What's 'Junior High'? :smok:
    Errrrr! what was the question?
