I think that it is the latest version of the 88mm PAK to enter service. But I can't tell you the official designation!
What is the gun in the centre of that picture? It looks a bit like the PAK 40, but scaled up & with a different shield... :-?

That is the latest version of the 88mm gun, the 88mm Pak43 L/71. Which is why I was wondering about the gun next to it, which seems to be even larger.

Quite right! (although the one ini the more conventional two-wheel mount was actually designated 8,6cm PAK 43/41 L.71-it was an 88 mm L.71 mounted on the carriage of 10,5cm FH 18 fitted with the wheels of the carriage of the 150 mm FH 18. Glad you liked them!. Here are a few more..two of a French Atelier Puteaux 47 mm L.53 mod. 1937 AT gun and an Odero-Terni 75 mm L.27 mod. 1906 (a Krupp 75 mm built under icense in Italy)-. The Note on the back of this gun reads :"Taken at a park in Kearny, New Jersey June 2, 1999 According to a policeman nearby; these guns arrived in "desert" camouflage-which might indicate their were captured from the Italians in North Africa

    Best regards

Indeed! Literally thousands...wherever he went.. Most of them unfortunately are slides, which we used to project on a screen here at the Club. I managed to convince him to switch to regular color film in the mid-1990s...I am the repositary of most of his collections as well as those of other friends..

That French 47mm L/53 gun looks mean! Certainly for its age it must have been quite an awesome AT gun!

KBO: thanks for clearing it up, though I have never seen this carriage used for the 88 L/71 before.

The French 47 mm L.53 was definetly a potent piece of hardware- The Germans captured large quantities of these guns and thought enough of them to mount them aboard their panzerjaeger vehicles.

Here are some more photos; a Krupp 10,5cm L.22 mod. 1916 photographed at the Plains of Abraham (Quebec, Canada) and two of a Spanish-built Vickers 105 mm mod. 1922 gun taken at the Castle fo Santa Barbara, overlooking the bay of the city of Alicante, in 1989. This is probably an improved Spanish version of the original, which wasa 105 mm L.22. The barrel of the weapons shown here seems to be considerably longer than 22 calibers...

P.S. KBO: got any pics of British 9.2 inch coastal guns you can post?

    Best regards

They are quite interesting. Thanks! It would appear that these were taken in the post-war era, judging from the car which can be seen in one of he photos? Any specs available?
    Besr Regards!

Yes i think the pictures are taken in the mid or late 50's or so, when some of these guns were removed because they werent needed no more. Im not sure about the last picture though..

Im afraid i havent got any spec's, as i got these a very long time ago.

    Best regards, KBO
