Baron Mannerheim: Defender of Finland

    When Finland was flrst threatened by war Field Marshal Baron Mannerheim was appointed Defender of Finland and Commander-in-Chief. He was also Commander-in-Chief whenFinland fought for her independence in 1918, and Regent in 1918-19. He was appointed a Field Marshal in 1933.
