The Battle of The Atlantic Museum at the Pier Head in Liverpool is the best military museum I have ever visited. Biased I suppose since I originate from Liverpool many years ago. And father and his brother served in RN on the convoy protection and then with Johnny Walker.

This museum cannot be rated highly enough for the feel it gives you of the period. The audio visual effects can be stunning and the museum is well spaced out. It is in the Albert Dock complex and is worth a visit just to go along afterwards to the Slavery museum, and other museums including Tate Mordern North all situated together just a very short stroll from each other.
