This question stems from the Warship Quiz. What are the differences/similarities between the KGV class and the Lion, I think it was called? They look awfully similar too this novice.

The Lions were basically a projected KGV follow on. The most glaring difference isn't very obvious from the side. Instead of the KGVs ten 14" guns in a 4, 2, 4 arrangement the Lions were to receive nine 16" guns in three triples.

That's the most important difference. Lion was a couple knots faster. There were some minor armoring differences. Lion wound up about 5000 tons larger than KGV.

Plus a raised bow compared to the KGV's and a transom stern (squared off rather than rounded (for a novice) :smok: )

Conqueror was assigned to John Brown and ordered but never laid down. Thunderer was authorized for construction at Fairfield but never officially ordered.
