We all know Tony William's excellent website and his literature about aircraft guns, and many of us own a copy of one or more of his books.

This request, however, is not primarily about guns, but also about bombs, rockets, missiles and every other kind of ordnance which can be hung under the wings of an aircraft or stuffed into its bomb bays.

Any period, but personally I'm particulary interested in WWII and the Air War in Vietnam, as well as Soviet/Russian aircraft ordnance ( both WWII and modern ).

I've got one on German Air-dropped weapons up to 1945, and Anthony Thornborough's book on NATO aircraft weapons. There is one about Soviet/ Russian aircraft weapons but I don't have a copy and I can't remember the title.

I have a couple - only one of which is at my flat

"Aircraft Armaments Recognition", Christopher Chant (Ian Allan Ltd, 1989)

It covers all major ordnance in use in the mid/late 1980s.

I'll try and get the other books next time I'm at my parent's house.

    Thanks. :)

Oli, do you have any author for the book about German ordnance?

    My other book is

"Modern Airbourne Missiles" from the Illustrated Guide series.

    Author - Bill Gunston

    (Salamander Books, 1983)

Again, it deals with every airbourne missile in service by the early 1980s, plus a few 'under development' projects.

Colour pictures and good text on Western equipment, mostly grainy black & white photos and vague text on the newer Soviet equipment, for obvious reasons.
