If you had to be captured by one of the big powers, who would it be? (assuming you were the enemy to that power)

Wrong forum once again. This forum is about WEAPONS. This is more of a "What If?" or WWII General question. And you left off the USSR. Perhaps a Mod will move it to the appropriate Forum :)

Dont mind answering these type of things, just wander what you get from it?

Being Brit Im not likely to want to be a prisoner of Japanese knowing history. Germans or Italians then...I'm bound to opt for Italians and hope for a less authoritarian regime overlooking my life or death in captivity.

Again what does this do apart from show no allies opting for Japanese I bet...Or Germans not opting for Russians...I think its pretty obvious who you would opt for taking into account you actually get a choice, dependant on your nationality.

    Personally I choose the Swiss.

I wouldn't mind being interned in the Seychelles.

The worst must be: wearing SS on your collar and being arrested by the Red Army...I guess..

Being a German prisoner in Sweden wouldn't be good either BTW. They were turned over to the Soviets after the war :( .

This is all good stuff Jc, I never knew that either.....How did they get away with that one. Surely as a neutral they were under obligation to return all internees to their own country....Then again...Russia was at the door.....

Just shows you what you miss if you dont read all the threads on this site. I went past that one. I have to get off pc occasionally when wife walks past, or I'd be on this place all day.

Thanks for that. Never knew any of that.

I edited the poll for Creeper and added British Commonwealth, which was intended to include all the nations of the group as one choice. So, in essense, Canada is a choice, as part of the the Commonwealth. Besides, the two were interchangeable, since Canada held a large number of prisoners of war that were captured by the British military.
