Anyone know what class the two patrol boats are?

Should send over the 'Stennis' and a couple of her sisters, and see how our peace loving Iranian brothers go.

    No idea on the boats!

I found a couple of articles that say 'Riverine Command Boat' but can't find a clear definition what that is yet. Some sites say Yamaha diesels and others say Scania

According to a wiki article which for some reason I can't post a link to, they are a Swedish design called the CB90. The boats were released with their crews.

No doubt there will continue to be speculation, but sometimes the simple answer is the best. Nothing so unbelieveable about navigational or seamanship errors or mechanical problems. And it's certainly not something the Iranians planned to embarass Obama on the day of the State of the Union.
