    In recent years the SAS has seen action in Timor and Iraq, as well.

    Does anyone know what type of Jeeps the SAS used in North Africa in WW2?

    To get to the question that I think commando asked, the SAS used a lot of Lend-Lease Jeeps and maybe some Rovers with Vickers machine guns and extra fuels cans since they were primarily doing long distance strikes and recons.

    Yes, I was in SAS.........Salvation Army Songsters!!
    LRDG, SAS found a shade of pink paint ideal for desert work.

    That's interesting. I just recalled having seen photos of modern SAS jeeps, which are brownish yellow. Thanks.

    I think this is a picture of an SAS Jeep, but I'm not sure.

    I think it's Soviet. Looks like a Maxim MG on the back.
