Commonwealth's fate if Britian lost

If in 1940 Great Britian was invaded and forced to surrender to Germany ( unconditionally no pre invasion deals) . What would have been the fate of the commonwealth countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand , and South Africa ? With America maintaining it's neutrality , we would still be at war with Germany , even pooled together at this time we wern,t much of a threat to the Third Reich . Does anyone think we would sue for peace or hang on as best we could and hope the U S A eventually comes in on our side ?
