I have been wondering, could the Greek Military have done better against the German Army had it retreated to various Mountain Positions and giving up much of flat Northern Greece with guirillas operating as the Germans advanced through Greece?

The Greek forces where motivated, and they did defeat the Italians, and the mountains of Greece would have been much easier to defend then the borders, or for that matter Crete, so would the Greeks have been able to do better then they did, or do you think all that was possible would have been the victory over Italy?

well, mountains can be easely defended, just look at the war in Italy, how long it took to break through the monte casino line. i do think that the greeks could hold it for much longer. problem was probably the collapse in moral when the British started to retrait out of Greece.

The Greeks seem to have a very relaxed approach to everything, perhaps too relaxed, maybe this includes war? My grandfather was in Greece during WW2, and was made to repair damage to canvas planes for the Germans. I asked him about it when I was little, he said it wasn't so bad because most of Greece was under supervision of the Italians, who had a similarily relaxed approach to working :p.
