If you have a Twitter account you can follow me @ArchivistWWII where I post great World War II-primary sources from our holdings as well as from my personal collection. I also post on Facebook. I am posting this link here for your interest. Admiral Alan Goodrich Kirk, CTF 122, was tasked with putting together logistical and elemental information for the planning of the Neptune phase of Operation Overlord. With the cooperation of British and US Intelligence, and the French Resistance, the Neptune Monograph was born. This Top Secret-Bigot report, and its May 1944 addendum, is arguably the single-most important document created for the Invasion. The document includes beach sample reports, weather information, maps, topography information,German countermeasures, and more. The first link provided will lead you to the new 2018 annotated version. The left-hand pages are the annotations and the right-hand pages are from the original Monograph. The second link provided is where in our collections at the National Archives and Records Administration, you can find one of many originals we hold in our possession. Enjoy.
