A new movie about Winston Churchill is due out soon. Hopefully it will be fairly accurate and entertaining as well. I know both those notions hardly fit into a movie, but we can always hope and pray. Regardless, I'm looking forward to it.

Id be interested in what people think of Gary Oldman's take...I rate him as an actor...I can see a lot of him in the role though...Ben Mendelsohn is also in it...an Australian.

This one will probably get me out to a movie theater. Gary Oldman is one of my favorite actors. I am very interested in seeing how he plays Churchill. (EDIT: Looks like CAC beat me to it on the "Oldman" angle.)

Saw it last week. Gary Oldman was amazing as Churchill. His portrayal is the best I've seen. Altogether the movie, IMHO, was very good. There were some fictional events but nothing that took away from the movie. I highly recommend.

And the French and British soldiers on the beaches at Dunkirk got equal screen time! ;)

Might have to take this one in this week. Been looking forward to it, and the good reviews here just makes it worse. I'll get my buddy to go with me after we get a haircut and lunch. Then he'll be on the hook to take his wife to a girly movie afterwards.

Critics and audience are rating this in the 80s.

Boss Lady and I saw different movies together. She saw "The Shape of Water". The earthmover that was going to drag me into that one failed to show up.

I saw it last night. While it did take so liberties with the facts at times, I was thoroughly impressed. Fantastic performance by Gary Oldman. Its one of the few movies I'd be willing to see again in theatres.

My wife and I saw this in a theatre that serves beer and wine. Suffice to say she fell asleep while I enjoyed a brew or two. Made it that much more enjoyable.

Which do you mean - your wife falling asleep or the alcohol?

I loved Halifax's comment, "He mobilized the English language and sent it to war."
