As our local police here in Billings are finding out, use of a mountain type bike is a very effective method of making a "get-away". Conseqently we now have a large number of police mounted on bikes, patroling the down-town area as well as bringing back motorcycles for patrol work.

Billings dropped their Harleys once upon a time, between 1970 and 1990 because they were only good for "pleasant weather" use here in Montana. Turns out they are cheaper to use, more manueverable, and the patrolmen love 'em. We brought back the new version of the Harley in the cruiser style, and put on the stuff. I still love seeing a white Harely cruising around with a policeman in the saddle.

Hi Clint, samething here. I see police even using those Segways downtown too. Oh and they even have an Horse squad as well. I saw them a few times. The DPS-which is the State Police-have all the above as well.

I saw that one with Darth, but well the times are hard, and bank robbery is bound to be on the rise, this guy used surgical gear.

    Goto:

Man wearing surgical mask, latex gloves robs bank

Or this "lady" (I use the term loosely) who put underwear over her face and robbed a local McDonald’s through the drive-thru window.

I don't think the legend of Dillinger or any of the other "Depression era bank men" are in danger in any realm except "weird".

The caught the "underwear" for a mask gal, she was a fifty something year old former Micky D's worker who had recently been discharged for drug taking. They found her in a condemned building not far from the McDonald's she had robbed.

Poor Darth, so you can see what can happen to great Dictators! Yesterday the great king and now not enough money to buy him a good meal!

The last i´ve seen was of an very dump idiot! He puts a paperbag of his head and forgot to make holes in it to see what he is doing. After he was in the Bank he runs against a door and then he went out to the parking lot and some of the cusomers behind him. As he reached his Pick Up he had to search for the key. The customers came closer and he want to pull his pistol that was in his belt. And now you know what happend, he shot himself in his leg, Poor Idiot!

    Regards

This thread got me looking for dumb bank robbers. I think this qualifies:

There's nothing worse than getting stuck in line at the bank, right? That's why a pair of impatient would-be robbers did the most sensible thing when they attempted to hold up a Connecticut bank yesterday -- they called ahead.
According to police in Fairfield, CT, two men from Bridgeport, CT, called into a People's United Bank on Tuesday afternoon. They told the bank employee to get a sack of cash ready (presumably one with a big "$" printed on it) because they would be showing up soon to collect their loot.
Ten minutes later, the pair made good on their promise and showed up at the bank, where they were arrested in the parking lot by the police, who had been notified.
The suspects, who one police sergeant describes as "not too bright," were charged with robbery and threatening.
