Absolutely! Is there a book, or site you could point me too that give more details regarding those issues?

Does anyone by chance know of any maps showing mines in the areas near and around El Alamein? I've looked online and haven't found anything substantial.

Try watching. YouTube episode of ‘world ar war’ rats if Tobruk or El Alamein should be plenty to use from that...

Hello everyone! I am essentially done with the major research for this story, I'll need to clear some things up, and will still have a few questions here and there, but I'm on track to begin drafting hopefully tomorrow. I'll show you guys an excerpt from Chapter 1 in a few days, thanks for your help and support guys, I'll keep you all posted.

I have a quick question I have not been able to find for the life of me, was RAF Gambut airfield in allied hands by October 1942? Some sources say yes, but I am not overly confident about that.

Hello everyone, I began writing Desert Rat on Tuesday finally after a couple of weeks of research and plot creation, unfortunately it hasn't been going well. I was initially going to have the story start with the main character being a Professor at Purdue university telling his story to students in 1968, as eager as I was for this concept to work, It hasn't. I am changing it in a way that will hopefully make it easier for me to get a groove and just write. I was hoping I would have an excerpt to show to you guys by tomorrow, but that's not happening. I might be able to get it to you guys by Tuesday, but it probably won't be until Wednesday most likely. Sorry everyone and thank you for your help and support!

Hello Everyone! I finally have a small excerpt from my first part of the story, I'll have another excerpt in a week or 2! I'll keep you all updated...

    "Dear Oliver,

30 years ago today your father passed away. I have hesitated to tell you much of anything that happened to me during the war in fear that you might be disappointed or even ashamed of me. I saw and did things that I will never forget. I’m sorry that I am just now telling you about your father and what really happened to him, I thought I was protecting you, but I was actually hurting you. In many ways I feel responsible for his death, and there have been many times in my life that I would be more than willing to take the place of your father. Along with telling about your father’s death, I hope this account allows you to see the kind of man he was, and why he was loved by so many."
