What kind of coffee mug would've be used aboard a destroyer escort in the Atlantic theater?

If we're talking Royal Navy then it would have been a standard white-enamelled metal mug.

An aluminium one, so I could carve it and turn it into trench art so that it would be in a collection after my death.

From what I've heard about Navy coffee, most likely Corning Pyrex enamel cups. Glass is impervious to most acids whereas metal is not.

I can not find my big coffee cup(I do not drink lifer juice). Homer Laughlin China saucer and Shenango China Demitass cup/saucer. You did not state the grade of personnel dinnerwear you were interested in. Hope this helps. Rich A. in Pa.

Note the rubberized table cloth in that photo, to keep things from sliding around.
