A lot of up tight folk here, why is everything taken so literally. Life is too short not to have a laugh, especially with Trumps finger on the button, here today ???? tomorrow.

Who's up tight? With Trump as our current Prez, he gives us plenty to laugh about every day...I guess it comes from being a reality TV President.

I think that freedom of approved speech scored a great victory last November.

You find it amusing that we're close to midnight?

I learned very early in life there are 2 types of problems, those you can deal with yourself and those you can have no impact on, so I work on the ones I can solve and watch other run around in circles trying to sort out the rest.

If we are that close to midnight there is nothing any of us can do about it so why worry. If we cannot enjoy life what is the point of it all - if we cannot poke fun at life we may as well all give up now. Why bother getting out of bed in the morning to be miserable.

Best quote of the day. "After the fiasco of the Swedish affair, let's hope that Trump is not watching Godzilla tonight"

    No, that's her cheque book.

Now let's see, 6 shillings for the executioner, 20 shillings for the to nail up the execution platform....

Has anyone seen the movie about George III, seems like he had porphyria, and used to blurt out offensive or nonsensical things - the ministers and MPs had no idea what to do or how to deal with the fact that the guy at the top was losing his marbles.

Seems like you Americans are experiencing a similar sort of situation.

All things considered, I think Trump's picks for defense, homeland security, NSC (2nd pick), and Sec of State are solid, so hopefully the adults are in charge of the mundane running of government, while the President concentrates on the more important tasks. (Tweeting about SNL, Meryl Streep and Schwarzenegger's ratings)

No its being a realist, making best use of your life, and not being neurotic over issues you can do nothing about.

Sounds like an excuse rather than a philosophy.

Phew.............one nearly slipped through the net but we got him!

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/feb/20/british-muslim-teacher-denied-entry-to-us-on-school-trip

A British Muslim schoolteacher travelling to New York last week as a member of a school party from south Wales was denied entry to the United States.
Juhel Miah and a group of children and other teachers were about to take off from Iceland on 16 February on their way to the US when he was removed from the plane at Reykjavik. The previous week, on the 10 February, a US appeals court had upheld a decision to suspend Donald Trump’s executive order that temporarily banned entry to the country from seven Muslim-majority countries....................

They also managed to stop him 'attacking' the US Embassy

“No satisfactory reason has been provided for refusing entry to the United States – either at the airport in Iceland or subsequently at the US embassy in Reykjavik. Mr Miah attempted to visit the embassy but was denied access to the building. Understandably he feels belittled and upset at what appears to be an unjustified act of discrimination.”

The story is a bit strange, but it seems like a case of the Iceland authorities and US embassy not following the rules.
And why would he have a valid visa if he is a British citizen?

Freebird, this is current travel advice https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/usa/entry-requirements

Should have been allowed entry unless he failed to meet some other criteria, such as dual nationality, passport not valid for 90 days prior to travel etc. But if he was full Brit passport, no convictions etc, shouldn't have been a problem.

Ban nationals from 7 Islamic terrorist countries from visiting your house?
Declare a moratorium on Israeli settlements in your backyard?

    Oh, nevermind...
