Otto - you and I spoke about me supporting the forum, which I would love to do. The book will finally be coming out sometime in the next week or two - I am incredibly close and have tried to contact you a couple times - but I know you are very busy at present. I'll be posting a link in a thread when it comes out - I hope this is still okay, per our discussion. Hope all is well with you, and LMK how I can help the forum! - Morg

A little primer for the Rogues.

    New Forum Software
Our current forum software IPB (Invision Power Board) just didn't work out for us. It's mildly clunky on the front end, but the back end is hopelessly confusing and awkward. We are therefore moving to a new forum platform later this month. This includes WW2 Talk.

    New Servers
The current server host is falling a bit short of what we need. Recent technical troubles at WW2 Forums and WW2 Talk have forced us to re-evaluate the machines we use to run our websites, and we will be moving to a new setup.

Either one of these two tasks is a major undertaking, both technically and financially. Since we have two sites we are doing each twice over.

In the next day or so I'll be giving members of both sites the option to become site supporters. This will give us the ability to make real improvements to our community and ensure our existence in the long term.

More soon. Thanks all for the continued support and ongoing offers for financial support. I'm truly humbled.

Maybe we can sell "indulgences" like in the old days. Perhaps we should call it "get out of jail free cards" to avoid owing a pieces of the action to some third party. We'd make a fortune on those things.

Would Confederate currency work ? I have a Confederate war bond that for some unknown reason still has a bunch of coupons on it.....at 8%.

If I buy an "indulgence" am I guaranteed a spot in heaven? If not, a "get out of jail free" card sounds good to me.

Get out of jail cards will probably be more of use around this place.

Indulgence...how about a "happy ending"? I always pay extra for that kind of action.

Unpinning this thread as we are a good measure into the fundraising. The successful transition at WW2 Talk and the quality of the XenForo software bode well for the future of these WWII Forums.
