Thank you for posting. A very solemn and moving thing to watch. I will never understand how human beings can do such to other human beings or animals for that matter.

Powerful. Just observing the enormity of the compound and the fact that those monsters constructed such architecture to use for the purpose of mass murder is sickening.

I am surprised by the proximity of the road at 1:18. Was the road there at the time? If yes, how the people living around not know what was happening?

Absolutely breathtaking. It's hard to imagine how people could do that to each other. It's size is simply astounding.

I still remember the day I visited there years ago on a very warm summer day. The size of Birkenau is unbelievable huge and really hard to understand. That really gives you perspective to the scale of human destruction happened there. Not a happy place to visit but one where everyone should go once in their life time.

I propose that you search for Auschwitz and Birkenau on Google Earth. Then you will be surprised by the real size of these death camps and also but the proximity of Auschwitz and Birkenau. Here are a few screencapture from Google Earth that I just made. The red arrow is pointing toward Auschwitz and the blue arrow toward Birkenau.

A very moving piece of film. We visited a few years ago as part of a "battlefields tour" which also included Belsen. Covered the whole of the so named "final solution" from Wansee to Nuremburg. A trip we will never forget.

Yepper, amazing that man has not evolved past this seedy past. Well, some of us have, sadly all we can expect - and so much potential.
