Some questions on the anti tank guns installed in the fortress of Eben Emael.

    1. These were 60mm l50 guns, from what i know these were the heaviest dedicated anti tank guns at the beginning of the war, but maybe there were others

    2. Performance. I've never found a reference about the armour piercing performance of these guns. Maybe someone can make an educated guess. They fired Solid shot with ap cap of 3.6 kg with a charge of 1.2 kg "poudre BG5" whatever smokeless powder that may be. One must just look at short distances since they were intended for ditch defence only. But one in fortress Battice was also able to fire over longer distances down a railroad.

    Many greetings

Sorry for my bad memory, but just remebered that i have a book on fortress Battice, where these guns were also used.

    extra info:

    muzzle velocity :about 1000 m/sec
    range 3000 m
rate of fire 30 rds/min (i guess this is an exageration)
