Hi guys. Stumbled upon these forums doing some research on an old heirloom of mine. I have a English-German U.S. Army issue book I assume was given to soldiers before deployment to the European Theater. I'm not sure if its from world war 1 or world war 2. Its a kinda light green, very non-descript, no frills, army issue No date or anything like that either. My first question is what war is it from? Secondly are these books rare or fairly common? Thanks in advance, I can post some pictures if necessary.
Please post pictures and we"ll gladly help. If it's bilingual it could also be a post 1945 occupation document for U.S. soldiers in Germany. To post pictures you need to post them on a buffer site first (like imageshack or photobucket for example.) Then you can copy and paste them. Direct pastings from your computer won't work .
Im sorry I cant post more pictures, my camera got dropped (wife) and the lense is screwed up, so the small print in the manual wouldnt come out in the pictures. The title on the second page is "30 German Lessons) No date or copyright, but it does say "Printed by Stuffgarter Vereinsbuchdruckerei LTD., Stuttgart W" Kinda lends itself to either the pre or post WWII Era I think.
Likely post 1945. Stuttgart was liberated by French troops and was later incorporated in the American zone. Considering this was printed in stuttgart under American command it has to be post WWII.
