Hey guys it would be nice to know which one of those old mighty ships is your favourite one (Battleship/-cruiser) ?

I like the HMS Repulse and would vote for her

    Warspite on the following grounds.

Traded punches with seven German dreadnoughts at Jutland. Which had the side effect of saving much of the crew of HMS Warrior.

Landed one of the longest range hits on record.

Assisted in the distruction of 3 Italian Heavy cruisers.

Not even the breakers took her without a fight.

Finally she looked damn near as good as Hood.

    :D

On looks, not Warspite, although she's a definite favourite for all the reasons Ebar stated (plus Narvik)

Looks wise Hood always strikes me as too "stretched" in the middle -- there's something odd about the aft barbettes perched way, way off near the stern.

What about the "ultimate BC" -- HMS Tiger?

My favourite ship? Can't really tell.
Ofcourse there are so many beautiful ships, B&T, Hood, S&G etc. I like even Nelsons with their intimidating looks.
And contrary to public opinion, I like of those 3 turret designs, they produce better looking ships than 4 turret designs. But ofcourse there are exceptions.

But liking a ship there must be more than the looks: Reputation, battle record, what-if's, lost opportunities, underdogs etc.

Therefore I have considered joining Tiger fan-club. But I think it doesn't really light my fire.

I've thought some underdogs for a while; VV, Blücher and even Yavuz.

But I really cant tell. I just like so many ships but there isn't a ship that is more favourite than others.

    Duh.

That's odd. I always considered the Iowa class to be the fat slob.

I like the Prinz Eugen class:
