another one in my collection,120mm scale german fallschirmjager resting on a wall in cretan diorama...
Another great one. And like in true life back in 1941 ( my guess ), I am sure he got very hot wearing those clothes.
Hello sniper1946, great diorama, but.... desert trousers and FG42 in Crete (1941)? my former barber (Crete vetran) wouldn't agree to that - maybe you have to name it Fallschirmjager at Monte Cassino? I am not sure, but besides on the Revell package - did the Fallschirmjaeger in Crete already have Splittermuster Knochensaecke (Cammo suits) Regards Kruska
Hello Sniper 1946, thanks for the photo, I had never come across or noticed one that depicts Germans on Crete wearing cammo. Also interesting that this Luftwaffe guy is wearing an angle as rank and not a wing. Regards Kruska
re fg 42...FG42's were first fielded into action by German Special Forces Operatives in the dramatic (and successful) rescue of Italian Dictator Benito Mussolini. After that, the system suffered when used by paratroopers in the battles for Crete and thusly faded away as frontline compact weapon systems. Never fully developed, the system had the potential to become one of the best small arms of the Second World War.ray.. ,
