Like the Thompson the best. Also like the MP40, MAC-10, UZI, and MP5.

I like FN P90, it can pierce kevlar-armour and has good clip capacity. Unfortunatelly its a bit heavy for modern day smg and ammunition isn't widely available.

M/31 Suomi-KP by Aimo Lahti. Although it weighs 7.1 kgs with 70 round magazine, it's very accurate and it has only 4 moving parts. I happen to own one.

Is this about the best or about your favorite?

Seeing all the post-WW2 designs added to the topic already I'll just assume you're discussing your private collections again... :D

Yes, you've seen it. Everyone has seen it. What matters is to know which name belongs to it. :D

In Soviet Union the AK-47 was qualified as a SMG.

I like the Pistolet-Pulemyot Shpagina obr 1941 (Ppsh41) from Russia
it was very popular among the German troops in ww2 for is reliability and its large magazine capacity at 71 round.

Of all WW2 SMGs I like this one best, too, and of course the German frenzy to get one for street fighting does say something about it. It has the advantage of that huge magazine.

About the HK5, isn't there a more advanced new model of it on the market? I believe the Dutch special forces already swapped their HK5s for that new gun, but I'd have to check on it.
