1950 - Halls of Montezuma 1952 - Okinawa 1960 - Hell to Eternity 1962 - The Pacific War and Himeyuri Corps (Taiheiyô Sensô to Himeyuri Butai) 1971 - The Battle of Okinawa a.k.a. Battle of Okinawa (Gekido no showashi: Okinawa kessen) 2005 - Yamato (Otoko-tachi no Yamato) 2009 - Battle Under Orion a.k.a. Last Operations Under the Orion (Manatsu no Orion) 2016 - Hacksaw Ridge Of the above the 1952 US film 'Okinawa' is missing in my collection. Also, the 1962 Japanese film 'The Pacific War and Himeyuri Corps' is rather rare and I have only found two versions; one in Japanese with Russian voice-over; and one with Italian dialogue. I chose the latter as I simply hate the VO.
The 1950 film Halls of Montezuma, starring Richard Widmark, Richard Boone and Robert Wagner's first credited appearance was about Saipan not Okinawa. Other Okinawa movies are "Away all Boats" and "Battle Stations" (1956). The latter again starred Richard Boone and was based upon the U.S.S. Franklin.
