Found in attic Fairbairn-Sykes

    Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife marked Sheffield England on the cross guard. Grip is a metal alloy with pointy butt end, a real killer! I would love to know more about this piece so all you militaria buffs out there please help.

    Back in a min just going up the attic............. no nothing just some guy said his name was Lord Lucan;) I tried putting Fairbairn Sykes in my search engine came up with a few sites that might help and ther is a very good book on Ebay will get back on that one.

    It's certainly a third-pattern F-S knife but it's very difficult to tell from the photo whether it is WWII-manufacture or after. The retaining nut seems to be missing and the crossguard appears to have been bent out of shape for some reason....:confused:
