Found in basement

    Just bought an old farm house and i heard the man that lived here was in ww2. I was wondering if anyone would have an idea of what this is from? Its a solid peice of metal and the letters on the bottom are possibly PAD but can only read the AD for certain

    There was a USS Paducah a early 20th century gunboat and a USS Paddle, a WW II Gato class sub.

    The bell of the USS Paddle is part of a memorial at Annapolis.
