Excellent song, thank you for reminding me the glorious days of the "Rock the Marne guys" and say hello to Fort Stewart. The closest equivalent we have is "Poilu" (the hairy ones in the trenches)

I'll stick to "Pretorian Guard" for the moment , something Imperial there and they were the best fighters you could imagine.

I know I'm being picky (sorry Skipper! ), but I want something that's sort of general for a Rogue breaking the 1,000 post barrier. Many of the terms that have been proposed are specific units of pre 20th century armies.

Ideally I'd love a term with the same feel as "ace" but maybe not as significant. Is there another term for multiple accomplishments/kills/sorties that we can use here? I'll even settle for a german one, we just need a good one. I also rather not have the term 'bastard' in the title. :p

This is especially important for you Skipper67, since as of this post you are only two post away from 1,000!

Umm, only two posts away, that's one now and I'm sure I'll find another one to post within a few moments. I'll come up wit a more general term later. Pretorian guard stems from the antique period but is used throughout the centuries up to nowadays . This is how Saddam called his imperial guard for instance. But I'll keep thinking. Get ready for the 1000 candle cake.

    Something else;
You could use Chess pieces, Knight, Bishop, Rook, and if that wasn't enough you could have colors red, black, white, not enough yet? Oak leaves, stars, crossed swords, Sashes, not enough yet? Pre-fixes of Royal, Majestic, Honored, Eternal etc..

So Peppy, have you handed out any reputation to the member that came up with the name for a 1,000 post member or are we still looking? :nerd:

My suggestion (Late as it be) is....

    Forum Nazi!

Nazi in this sense: 3.Sometimes Offensive. (often lowercase[IMG]) a person who is fanatically dedicated to or seeks to control a specified activity, practice, etc.: a jazz nazi who disdains other forms of music; tobacco nazis trying to ban smoking.

I think it is very fitting for some one who reaches 1000 Posts.

Thanks for all the suggestions from all you Rogues out there.

I've tried long and hard to come up with a term for a Rogue that hits 1,000 posts. So far the best I can figure is veteran. I'm not sold on it just yet, but it's the closest term to what I'm looking for so far. I am however, still fielding suggestions, so keep them coming. Any feedback from you Rogues on this?

Peppy >>> shooting for pefection! :smg:

Veteran is acceptable, I think. It implies long service, consubstantiated by a large number of posts.

I think veteran is ok. Shows you have been around awhile ( and survived...)

I like veteran, but I wish we had something a bit more colorful. Two votes for yes is a good omen though.

Peppy >>> wishes he were a veteran

Personally, I like the term veteran, but I've left this decision in the hands of my anal-retentive moderator Peppy. ;) So he's going to have to be happy with it. To move this along though, I'm going to ask that we come to a decision by the end of this month. Who ever comes up with the best term will get reputation from myself as well as Peppy. (That's a lot of juice!)

    Keep those suggestions coming Rogues.
