Once from the Halloween Horror vaults:

"Honey, my mother is coming for a visit. Not more than six months. Maybe a year."

And of course this goes over and over every year or 2 times six months.

Between the road crash of British politics at the moment and your election, I have decided to sing Doris Day hits. Que Sera Sera is favourite at the moment. Any other requests?

I just pictured Doris Day as front man for Metallica.

I was veering more towards the music of the time when everything was perfect. Mummy in her apron greeting her kids back from school with biscuits fresh from the oven, having a home cooked meal ready for her husband. I would not have to worry my silly little head about politics but would puzzle over which frilly negligee I should wear to please him. None of that nasty loud Satan induced music that drives people into depravation. and sin. Life Is Just A Bowl of Cherries is next.

Have you ever seen "Rebel Without a Cause"? James Dean is going crazy because his parents are not into their traditional roles. Dad likes to cook and Mom does stuff reserved for men in those days.

My point is those days never existed.

Of course they did - I saw it all in the movies and commercials.

They couldn't put it in movies and commercials if it wasn't true, could they?

Since there really aren't any "actual news programs" at least on network TV that problem should be easily avoided.

I might actually turn on the TV for that.

    An excellent point.
