My name is Bas and I live in The Netherlands. I'm the owner of a ww2 Dodge WC-52 for quite some years now. But recently I've bought a ww2 Royal Enfield WDCO motorcycle. Besides just having fun riding the bike I would also like to take part with it in upcoming liberation parades. I'm not really a reenactor, but I want to dress up properly for this events. Battledress, dispatch riders helmet, leather jerkin, etc. Since I live in the south of the Netherlands I would like to represent a XXX Signal Corps soldier. As far as I know I need a battledress with marked from top to bottom: Royal Signals shoulders badges 30th Corps Formation Signs (boar image) on the upper arm Royal signals recognition flash chevrons Maybe a dispatch riders batch on the lower arm Can anyone tell me if this would be a correct representation? Is the dispatch riders badge used on both arms or only on the left? What would be the correct cap badge? Thanks in advance! Cheers, Bas
I've attached a page from the book The Armed Forces of World War II. The image at lower left could be of help to you. In the upper right is the figure description. I know it's just a profile but I hope it helps.
Thanks for your help! So following this a corps badge would not be required. Any guess on which cap badges would be correct? Cheers!
Would a battledress like this be a correct representation for a dispatch rider in the south of Holland then? I already have the correct helmet and leather jerkin. Only need some help on patches, badges and flashes.
